Let me introduce the meaning of God’s favor by providing
the difference between Unmerited favor and Exceptional
unmerited favor. From my understanding of Grace, Unmerited
favor is the goodness of the Lord to everyone; this depends on
His(God’s) will. On the other hand, Exceptional unmerited favor is
favor for those who have sincerely accepted Jesus in their
hearts(those who will inherit the kingdom of heaven i.e born again
christians). God favors even those who have rejected Him because
He is very kind. Haven’t you wondered why people who haven’t
accepted Jesus still have good things in life such as good jobs,
good homes, wealth, businesses, incredible spouses, amazing kids?
Well, the reason is that God is good regardless, and He always
favors His children.

* God the Father(Jehovah) = God the Son(Jesus) *
But here is the question. If God favors everyone, then why is it
necessary to accept Him? When you are born into this world, you
receive God’s unmerited favor naturally according to his will. But
when you accept Jesus in your heart(become born again), not only
will you receive unmerited favor in this lifetime but you will also
inherit the kingdom of Heaven (Exceptional Unmerited Favor).
Also, a born again christian(with exceptional unmerited favor)
would receive an awesome peace of mind; that which others won't
have regardless of their success in life, unless they become born
again.
The fact that you are going through a tough time and you
feel like your life is almost over doesn’t mean God is still not
favoring you. The fact that you have lost your job doesn’t mean
that God is not providing you with his unmerited favor. The fact
that your bank account is in a comma doesn’t mean that God’s
unmerited favor in your life is over. First of all, the fact that you
are still breathing is enough proof that you are still receiving God’s
unmerited favor. Good health is another thing you should thank
God for. If you are able to feed your children at least once a day,
my dear friend, you are definitely still receiving God’s unmerited
favor. Now, am I saying that sickness or poverty means God is still
not favoring you? Definitely not. There is no particular definition
or formula to explain how and when God favors his children.
According to (Isaaih 55:8-9), God said "for my thoughts are not
your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord.
For as the Heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways
higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts". As
you can see, God's ways are very unique and so no one fully
understands why God does what He does. We just need to believe
and know that He will always favor His children especially
His born again children. You need to bear in mind that
God loves you dearly and still favors you according to His time
and will. Just believe in Him and never give up. Have much faith
in the Lord and you will be amazed at the things he has kept aside
for you. The Bible says “…for verily I say unto you, if you have
faith as a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain,
'move from here to there' and it will move, and nothing will be
impossible for you” (Matt 17:20).
