Those with so much pain

Ladies and gentlemen, there is a general tendency that advice is

easily given when those giving the advice don't know what the

others(victims) are actually going through. But in this case, I want

you all to know that I sincerely understand what you are going

through because, I in particular, went through a lot of pain myself.

In fact, one of the reasons I am inspired to write these words is

because I went through pain but I was able to overcome with the

help of only one man; Jesus Christ. The Holy scripture says "the

Lord gives strength to His people; the Lord blesses His people with

peace" (Ps 29:11). My dear friends, Jesus blesses us with peace.

And I write this to you to tell you that, that same peace took my

pain and worry away. One of the most important things anybody

can ever have is a peace of mind. So I challenge you; irrespective

of your situation right now, open your heart to Jesus and receive

that same awesome peace.

*Those with job loss:

PLease, don’t worry about your job loss. Okay? If you lost your

job for no justified reason(for instance layoff, a co-worker set you

up, on pregnancy leave, mere misunderstanding), then you were

not destined to work for that company. Your destiny lies in God’s

hands. Talk to Him(in prayer) and ask Him to please make His

plan for you known. Regardless of what company or school or state

you work for, the real employer is the creator- Jehovah. Pastor

Creflo Dollar once said “the stock market doesn’t move God, God

moves the stock market”. I guess that statement implies that wall

street doesn’t move God, God moves wall street. Any private or

public company can stumble but God always remains standing.

Not that I wish for any bad thing(God forbid) to occur but the fact

is that the job market in any country could go down to zero percent

but God will always be standing. In other words, God is

unshakable. The Bible says that in the beginning was God(see Gen

1:1) but we fail to understand that before that beginning was God.

God was the before-beginning, God was the beginning, God is the

today, God is the end, and God is the after-end. So you see, God is

all round the clock. Therefore we must solely rely on Him for

everything in life and after life; including the need for jobs, quality

education, spouses, houses, joy, peace of mind, love. etc. I have

heard many people ask this question before "how did God come

about"? Honestly, we should never ask this particular question and

just accept who God is. The tendency is that when we keep asking

this question, we tend to disbelieve and then our faith goes down

the drain. It is only the devil who brings this question to mind to

have us confused. The universe itself is a mystery, let alone God's

existence. The human brain is too little to understand God's

mystery and therefore, we should just accept Him and believe.

At 26 years of age, there was a period of time where I had no job

for over six months and I was flat broke. The job market was so

hard, I even applied for DC unemployment benefits(as a former

DC employee at a cvs store) and I was denied the benefits for an

unknown reason, I was managing in my parents basement(thank

God for the most adorable parents), and my kid brother Nana and

my parents were helping to pay my bills(car insurance, health

insurance, life insurance, phone bill, student loans.etc).  At first, I

felt really bad and discouraged about life but then, I remembered

who I was - a son of the true living God. In other words, I

remembered that I was a young man who had completely accepted

Jesus in his heart and who was ready for life’s battle. So I became

more encouraged and kicked all my worries to the curb and started

living a very comfortable and worry-free life. Friends and relatives

were so amazed at the fact that I was always happy even though I

had an empty bank account. I was even happier than some folks

with huge pay checks. That alone is a clear proof that happiness is

from God, not from your job or bank account. I recall my cousin

“Junior Akene” once telling me that if he was in my shoes, he

would probably hang himself for going through a lot. Lol. You see,

the truth is when you have sincerely accepted Jesus is your heart,

the Holy Spirit(which is Jesus everywhere), works in you and with

you through every circumstance in your life, good or bad.

*Those with financial difficulty

Let me begin with this by saying that financial breakthrough is

not your hard-earned money, it is your God-earned money. Our

heavenly father is responsible for your financial success. You

will receive financial breakthrough in the mighty name of Jesus

but all you have to do is declare it and receive it. Simply make

your demands known to God and talk to Him sincerely. Even

though He already knows our problems, He still expects us to ask

(see Matt 7:7). God is the wise God and He has made everything

available for us if only we just ask Him and believe. The Bible

says that God will provide our needs according to His riches in

glory(see Phil 4:19b). If you truly believe that God owns

everything in heaven and earth, then you wouldn’t have the least

doubt that He can provide. Think about it for a minute. The one

who created the entire universe, created the human body(which

includes many complicated body parts), created the animals, land,

sea, water, and air; has promised to provide your needs according

to His riches in glory. He has told us to merely ask and believe.

How hard is that? What is really stopping us from merely putting

this into practice? Guys, please let us not give the devil any

chance. The moment we start worrying over little things, we grief

the Holy Spirit that lives inside of us and make the evil spirit

happy. Recall that all your problems bundled up together is

absolutely nothing to God. When you worry about finances, do you

know how God responds to that? God is like “well, I can’t help this

one. He is worrying too much about simple finances”. Please listen

to me folks. God can make you a millionaire overnight if He wants

to. All He wants is for us to trust in Him and His will for us will be

done in due time; according to His time. Have faith and see the

marvelous things that will happen to you. Jesus said “seek first the

kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things will be

given to you as well(Matt 6:33). Think about this sentence for a

minute. Jesus didn’t say “seek second the kingdom of God”. He

said “seek first the kingdom of God” and then everything else will

follow.

*Those with lost(dead) loved ones:

There are many folks out there who have lost close relatives,

friends, co-workers, spouses, and still feel bad and discouraged

about life. Please do not give up. There is one true comforter out

there; His name is Jesus. Please try him out. You need to meet the

real Jesus and get into a personal relationship with Him; by

trusting and believing in Him. Recall that the bible clearly says

“Blessed are they that mourn, for they shall be comforted”(Matt

5:4). So it is very okay and normal to mourn for your loved ones

when they pass away. We are human and so we suffer the

consequences of losing dear ones coupled with the fact that we are

going to miss them for a long time until we see them in heaven.

But here is my point. Mourning for a period of time is as far as it

goes. Please, we can’t hold ourselves back because of our loss.

Although Jesus implied that it was okay to mourn, He also said “let

the dead bury their own dead, go thou and publish abroad the

kingdom of God”(Lk 9:60). My dear brethren in the Lord, it is okay

to mourn and miss their presence because we have lost loved ones

but please we can’t afford to give up. When you think of

completely giving up because of a dear friend or sibling who died,

ask yourself this question “Would my bereaved friend or sibling

really want me to give up on myself. As he sees me from heaven,

is he happy with my attitude”? That is a question we should

reflect on. If you want to give up on your life endeavors

(job, family, friends, projects, education), and don’t feel like doing

them anymore, don’t do them for yourself then. Do them for the

sake of the loved one(s) who passed away. Better yet, do them for

the sake of  Jesus. Continue with what so ever thing it is you left

off. Do it and dedicate it to your bereaved friend, sibling, or Jesus

and uphold His legacy on earth while you still can.  You

can’t abandon God’s plan for you. Okay? Remember, your friend

is in heaven resting and having fun. So please don't worry; let Jesus

be your comfort and strength.

So to all those who have lost dear people in their lives, I

challenge you to get back up and fight as kings and priests

on this earth. God has made us kings to have dominion over this

earth and priests to commune in fellowship with Him. Don't let

satan pull you back; rely on king Jesus.

*Those with marital issues:

For those willing to get married, please listen to this carefully.

To get married is very easy but to stay married is the real

challenge. We keep saying we want God to give us Mr. right or

Mrs. right. The real question is “are we ourselves right for the

other”? You can’t be hoping for a future successful marriage when

you are probably the main problem. Pastor John Hagee once said:

if you want success in marriage, you need to carry success into

marriage”. Success doesn’t just come from the sky. We need to

walk into a marriage home with a gentle heart and a willingness to

succeed in every circumstance and come across every obstacle in

the name of our Lord and savior Jesus. The Bible says “marriage is

the union of one woman and one man”(Gen 2:18). This union is a

holy consecration designed by God. Therefore, if we act in line

with God’s word, there is absolutely no need to give up but to rely

on Him. So, please don’t give up because your spouse is coming

along. According to His watch, God will send you the one who will

share in your good and bad moments. In fact, stop thinking about

marriage and strongly believe your turn is coming. When I say

'stop thinking about it', it doesn’t mean you have given up. No!

The more you think of something over and over, the more worried

you become. So, the way to go about it is not to strain or think

about it at all. God is in control of your destiny and He will favor

you every step of the way.

For already married couples, please listen carefully. You have

got to trust in the Lord. Pastor Creflo Dollar once said that “every

marriage needs a third party and that party is Jesus”. The only

way a married couple will succeed is when the couple stands firm

in Jesus. Rehabilitation is okay but won’t solve the problem,

therapy is okay but won’t solve the problem, psychics are not okay

and won’t solve the problem, arguments are not okay and won’t

solve the problem, money is okay but won’t solve the problem,

love is definitely okay but won’t solve the problem, even children

are okay but won’t still solve the problem. You both have got to

try somebody, his name is Jesus Christ. The only solution to any

successful marriage is sincere trust in Jesus. I know by now, some

married couples are saying "ahhh, this guy is talking nonsense. We

don't know Jesus but our family is doing just fine". Let me tell you

something. There is a difference between doing just fine and

actually doing fine. Also, there is a difference between doing fine

in our eyes and doing fine in God's eyes. Everything may be going

on well in your household but if you invited Jesus, who knows how

much better your family would be doing? Sometimes, couples feel

like their relationship is perfect, not knowing the big trouble that is

coming their way in the future. I am not condemning anybody or

wishing bad things to happen to any married couple(God forbid

that). All I am saying is that Jesus(God the son) knows every

circumstances you will come across and He is willing to be in

charge of your marriage if and only if you sincerely invite Him

into your relationship with opened arms. Now, am I saying that

married couples who trust in Jesus don't have problems in their

lives? No! But here is the difference: A couple that has a personal

relationship with Jesus will always have a peace of mind

regardless of how huge their problem is. A couple that trusts so

much in Jesus will not worry about a bill or financial difficulty or

robbery or any problem because of the Christ who still watches

over them. Bear in mind that when you go through struggle in life,

it doesn't mean Jesus is dead or Jesus is ignoring you. His ways are

simply different from ours and His time is different from our time.

We operate in the natural realm but Jesus operates in the

supernatural realm. I therefore encourage couples and every child

of God to exercise much patience in God. He still got your back.

  * the Lord is close to the broken hearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit
                                                                         (ps 34:18)

Must we ask God

Definitely yes. If you don’t ask God for your needs, he wouldn’t

give you and then you will easily give up on him. So in order not

to give up on him, you must definitely ask him through the method

of communication with Abba father i.e ‘prayer’.

*The need:

Some people say there is no need asking God for anything

because he already knows what we want. Smh! God definitely

knows what you want but he wants you to ask. That’s just how God

is and we must learn to accept it or we are doomed. We are

familiar with the verse (Matt 7:7) right? It clearly says that ask and

it shall be given to you, seek and you shall find, knock the door

and it shall be opened onto you. Now permit me to break all this

ask-seek-knock theory. ‘Ask’ means that we should literally ask

God for whatever we need in life. ‘Seek’ means that after asking

God of that thing, we should seek the answer. Of course, this is

usually accompanied with prayer or prayer and fasting so that we

can communicate with God in the spirit realm.

As earlier mentioned, God’s answer is often yes, no, or wait. So

after seeking the answer, we must praise him and thank him with

faith regardless of the decision made by him. 'Knock' means we

should ask again while thanking him and believing in him. 'Knock’

also means that we should confirm that it is God we are asking

from. When you knock someone’s room door, the main reason for

knocking is to confirm if it is the room owner that is in there right?

In the same way, when you are knocking at God’s door in prayer,

you wish to confirm if it is God the father you are communicating

to. In a nutshell, we ask, seek and knock when requesting the

father to please do something for us. Technically speaking, Jesus

took care of all these problems more than 2000 years ago when he

died on the cross and said “it is finished” (Jn 19:30). Therefore,

under normal circumstances, we ought to praise God and thank

him. Praise God and thank him. Praise God and thank him. Let me

say it one more time. Praise God and thank him. It is finished and

done. All your needs are taken care of. The moment you sincerely

accepted Jesus in your heart, you accepted full prosperity and

success in life. Therefore there is no need to give up because God

knows what he is doing. When you sincerely ask God for

something, just believe he heard you and it will be taken care of.

So the next time you bring up the issue, just praise him and thank

him in advance for already supplying you with that need. This is

called “declaration”. Don’t go saying to yourself “O my God, I

didn’t pray or fast enough. I need to pray for an extra hour or I

need to pray more” Nope. This is called ‘worry’ and worry is an

effect of fear. When you do that, you start doubting God’s love for

you.

*A friendly encounter:

I once had a chat with a friend and she told me that good men

were really hard to find and she didn't know what to do anymore.

She said she was very unfortunate when it came to finding a good

man as a partner or husband. I asked her if she believed in God and

she immediately answered “yes, sure”. So I told her to hold my

hands let’s ask God to send her a good man. Can you imagine what

she asked me? She said “does that thing really work?”  I was like

“excuse me. I just asked you if you believe in God and you said

yes. And now you are asking if that works. So you don’t believe in

God after all”. End of short story! My dear friends, we say things

all the time just for the purpose of saying. We need to dig deeper

into our hearts and not only depend on human knowledge. We

need to discover the real Jesus. Doubting whether Jesus can solve

our problems is simply not believing in God the father, God the

son, and God the HolySpirit. It is either you believe in God or you

don't believe in God. There is no half this and half that. Let us get

real and stop deceiving ourselves that we believe in God because

the truth is, only about 30% of christians truly believe in God in

today's world. God knows the heart, so we can't deceive any body

by merely saying that we believe in God when we really don't.

Saying that you believe is one thing, actually believing from the

bottom of your heart is another thing. The bible clearly says "not

everyone who says to me 'Lord, Lord' will enter the kingdom of

heaven…."(Matt 7:21). What this verse is saying is that it is not

every Tom, Dick, and Harry who calls God Lord that will go to

heaven. If you call him Lord, without actually believing in him,

you won't inherit his kingdom. Even satan knows that God is Lord

but he will never go to heaven because he has rejected God in his

heart. You must be aware that satan knows the bible very well and

can quote all scriptures in it and use it against us. So, like I said

before, knowing the bible is one thing. Getting spiritual

revelation(Jesus' love) out of the bible is another thing. Therefore,

we must read the bible at all times, ask for spiritual revelation

from God, and believe in God's words.

*What to do when in trouble:

The question we need to ask ourselves is "where do we go to

when we are in trouble"? or "what do we do when we are faced

with a serious problem"? Let me break this into different

examples:  you robbed a bank and you still feel really bad about

or fornication or adultery but you are still not able to,  you

blackmailed someone and the person was sent to jail, you are

suffering from alcohol and drug abuse addiction, you scammed a

business client and made millions of dollars in the process, you are

trying so hard not to lie or cheat on your spouse, you are suffering

from inferiority complex and feel like committing suicide at all

times, you are so generous and people take your kindness for

granted, you hate yourself so much and wish you were never born,

you feel like a failure, your children stress you out and you feel so

depressed, you are suffering from a terminal disease or

sickness(e.g cancer, aids), you murdered one, two or ore people

and feel really bad about it, you are a drug dealer or drug addict,

you are always sad and annoyed, you didn't accomplish your life

goals at your age and you feel really depressed; etc etc. The list

goes on and on but one of you reading this would definitely be in

one of the above categories. The question still stands "what should

you do"?

First, the obvious thing is not to give up. Jesus is full of hope,

love, and joy; and wouldn't want any of his people to give up. Let

me make something crystal clear: God can forgive anybody; I

mean anybody. That is how much God loves us. Regardless of

what bad thing you have done, Jesus(God the son) is still willing to

forgive you. All you have to do is to come to him in prayer and

surrender your heart to him. Ask him to help you and he will

transform you. The transformation process doesn't just happen

overnight; it will take a while and you will be amazed.  Don't try to

change yourself, come to Jesus and he will change you. The

tendency is that when you try so hard by your self will, you keep

doing the same mistakes and then end up giving up. But if you let

the holy spirit(God's spirit) to take charge, you will be amazed.

The holy spirit empowers you naturally to do good.  When you are

faced with a serious problem such as one of the above mentioned,

don't run away from God; instead run to God. God does not

condemn anyone; he is instead your source of joy. Present your

problem to God and sincerely say "Father, I know you are hearing

me right now. Please help me to get rid of this problem. I know

you can and I trust in you, in Jesus' name I pray, Amen". The

moment you say that from the bottom of your heart, God has

already started performing his miracle in your life.

Let us take a look at our present day situation. Let us assume a

father loves his son so much and the father would do anything for

his son to be happy. If the son is in trouble or has done something

bad, will he honestly run away from his father for fear of

condemnation? Will the son escape from the father's house

because he thinks that the father will punish him? My guess is 'no'.

Any son in his right mind, who understands how much the father

loves him would run to daddy when in any trouble, right? In the

same way, if we understand that God loved us so much by

sacrificing his only begotten son(Jesus) for us, then we should

understand that he will never condemn us; but would rather help

us. We all know that God loved us so much that he sacrificed his

only begotten son for our sake, right?(see Jn 3:16). Now, why

would a man sacrifice his son if he didn't love us so much? Think

about it. Why would a man do that and then condemn us again?

God is full of love and mercy, not condemnation. That explains

why God's word is called 'Good news' not 'condemnation news'.  So

if you are suffering from drug or alcohol addiction, or from anger

and depression, present your problem to him and sincerely ask him

to help you. God is willing to help only if we allow him to. Recall

that God doesn't force anyone to come to him. The father is free

and if we are made in his image, we too are free. So God has given

us a freedom of choice but he is hoping that we would use our

freedom to choose him and not the devil. Therefore, I challenge

you not to give up on God because his grace(love and mercy) is

more than sufficient.

*The adulterous woman:

Let me use a good example is the bible to explain to you that

God does not condemn but rather loves and forgives. In Jn 8:2-11

we learn of a woman who committed adultery and was caught.

Now, God's law commanded that this woman be stoned to death.

So the teachers of the law and the pharisees brought this woman to

Jesus to see whether Jesus will follow the law. First of all, Jesus

was the only holy man among all of them because he had never

sinned or done any wrong thing. Therefore, Jesus was the only

person qualified to judge this woman by stoning her to death but he

chose not to.  Jesus, so full of grace(love and mercy) decided not to

follow the law. The pharisees asked him "the law of Moses

commanded us to stone such women, now what do you say?" He

responded with a very intelligent statement which was "…let

anyone of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at

her"(Jn 8:7). They all felt guilty and threw their stones away. Jesus

walked up to the woman and asked "woman, where are they. Has

no one condemned you"? And she responded "no one sir''. Then

Jesus said "neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more"(Jn

8:11).

As you can see, Jesus(God the son) does not condemn any

one. Why then should we condemn ourselves and run away from

him? So, when in trouble, we should ask God for help.  When you

find yourself in a serious mess, come to Jesus and he would tell

you something similar to what he he told this woman "neither do I

condemn you, go and sin no more". This implies that Jesus does

not condemn anyone but forgives easily and helps us out of trouble

with an inexplicable supernatural power.  That is the God we

serve; the God of love and mercy. Therefore, please do not give up

for your heavenly father still cares about you.
